At Osprey Rail, our mission is to provide safe, efficient and reliable logistical and transportation solutions to our customers. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and improving the communities we serve.
The introduction of non-stop service on this line, means up to 250,000 tons per trip for light cargo. Removing roughly 14 tractor trailers from out highway system. We can service industries already in South Carolina like White Claw, FedEx, Amazon, USPS, Scout Motors, and others. Benefits extend to tourism and business travel with the eventual build out for the rest of the state.
Since the interstate coordinator limits interference with current commute by public as project is being built, the I-26 interstate medians are easily capable of modification for the needs of the Osprey Tail line and with minimal cost to South Carolina.
The average drive time from Greenville, SC to Charleston, is 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. With the introduction of our rail system, this time is cut down to an average of 38 minutes.
This will the the first line with future plans to connect Columbia with Charlotte (93 miles in 18 minutes), Charleston (116 miles in 23 minutes) , Myrtle Beach (151 miles in 30 minutes), Atlanta (214 miles in 43 minutes), and beyond.
Our plan of introduction and expansion does not interfere nor compete with the historic revenue producing rail operations in South Carolina. Osprey Rail would be a source of investment in the future growth of South Carolina while giving companies choice on how to conduct logistics and bring our communities closer together.
We are actively securing investors and the backing of the local, state, and federal government.
"Our goal is to gain cooperation and further understanding of SCDOT and the state of South Carolina as we proceed thru the political and federal entities that are required for the future of our SC Transit System"
- Anthony W. Ard, Founder Osprey Rail
Currently, there is more than 20 million dollars available for the Corridor ID program through the USDOT, simply for exploration and proposals.
The state of California has received 9 billion dollars in grants for the build out of a high-speed rail system.
In 2022, Japan has reported over 23 billion dollars of revenue from its high-speed commuter rail services. Since it's commencement in 1964, the Tokaido Shinkansen line has no reported fatalities. These trains carry over 150 million passengers per day at an average of 285km/h. Only now are the beginning to develop cargo services.
In South Carolina, cargo only trips average of 20 trips per day minimum moving an estimated at 500,000 pounds of goods. Add to this the revenue from ticket sales, onboard restaurants and other services. This equates to millions in taxable revenue and new employment opportunities.
With new manufacturing coming to South Carolina at record levels and the current population boom, a true mass transit system is necessary to support our historic growth.
Maglev trains, short for magnetic levitation trains, use powerful magnets to lift and propel themselves along tracks, eliminating the need for wheels and reducing friction. This technology allows them to achieve very high speeds—often exceeding 300 miles per hour (480 km/h)—while also providing a smoother and quieter ride compared to traditional rail systems.
